
November in Mrs. Wilson's Class
Virtue of the Month
Our Virtue of the Month for November is Perseverance. Through various examples, the students will learn about what it means to persevere, and will discuss ways to practice this virtue in their own lives.
Math
In Math we will continue to focus on addition and the process of subtraction. Work with Canadian money will continue, and we will conclude our unit on greater than, less than and equal to . Our Geometry lessons will focus on a review of triangles by sides and angles. The students will complete any follow-up required following our first Albanesi test for math.
Language
This month the students will continue to practice cursive writing. Our Word Study unit on Compound Words will be concluded, while Suffix activities will continue and Prefixes will be introduced. The students will learn more about when and where to use Capital Letters. We will begin our first novel study book, The Wind Wagon by Celia Lottridge.

Culture
In Geography we will examine the map of Canada and the students will be introduced to Canada's Aboriginal people. Our Class Diary, now in its third phase, will continue in History and we will begin to learn the Main Stations on the Clock. In Botany the students will begin the First Knowledge of Plants Game and will complete follow-up sheets detailing their favourite plants from each game. They will be introduced to a similar game in Zoology, and will each choose an animal to research and complete a project on later in the month.

*Please remember to bring in the "All About Me" sheets for our student who is moving to Germany at the end of the month. We are certainly going to miss him!
